Head gives tennis players a spring in the step

14/02/2008
Head has launched its first performance tennis footwear line, which is said to combine elegance and aesthetic appeal with performance qualities for any court surface.

The new collection incorporates Head CXG technology which offers comfort, shock absorption, decreased foot fatigue, stability and motion control. A combination of turned polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon and saran fibres are shaped to form an interlocking coil structure within the sole of the shoe. The coil is then encapsulated within a polyurethane form so that when the foot makes contact with the ground, the coil fibres compress and absorb shock. As the foot reaches the end of its stride, the coil structure produces an upward force, much like that of a resilient spring.

The range will also use the company's Cooling System which helps to create 'climate control' within the shoe by absorbing and releasing excess heat. It also features its Radial Contact outsole technology to ensure constant traction and flexibility. A special rubber compound and upper material textiles provide added protection and durability.

The collection includes models for men and women and offers lightweightness, a range of styles and colours.
