Sharp decline for Latvian textile exports
Total Latvian exports fell 10.8%, or 39.8 million lats ($83.5 million), in December compared with November exports, according to the country's statistics bureau. However, exports rose 12.9%, or 37.4 million lats, year-on-year to 328 million lats.
While exports of base metals and metal goods rose 66.2%, chemical and allied industries increased by 48.3% and exports of agricultural goods grew 38.8% compared with December 2006, exports of textiles and textile goods fell an incredible 27.1%.
Compared with November figures, textile and textile goods exports dropped 28.1%.
