Puma’s Q4 apparel sales up 15%

Germany-based sportswear brand Puma has posted a sales increase of 10.3% for its fourth quarter to €504.5 million on a currency-adjusted basis. Footwear sales rose by 7% to €277.2 million, apparel sales rose 14.8% to €194.7 million and accessory sales were up 14% to €32.6 million.

By region, EMEA sales increased 19.9% and Asia/Pacific sales increased 14.3%. Meanwhile, sales in the Americas fell 3.3% as expected.

For 2007, global brand sales totalled €2.7 billion, up 3.4% on a currency adjusted basis. Annual footwear sales climbed 1.9% to €1.48 billion, apparel sales rose 5.7% to €998.7 million and accessory sales grew 3.7% to €262.2 million. 

The brand opened
25 new concept stores worldwide in 2007, bringing its tally to 116 at the end of 2007. 

Single digit growth is expected in 2008.
