Lenzing launches MicroModal Air at Paris shows
Austrian producer of cellulose fibres Lenzing recently presented its new Modal fibre, MicroModal Air, at Expofil and Texworld, which took place in Paris from February 18-22.
Its main applications are in knitwear, helping to create finer knit fabrics for the lingerie sector. It incorporates the properties of the company's standard micro Modal fibre; however, it is said to be finer and softer.
Modal fibres are made from beech wood and are produced using eco aware technologies. They are produced on spinning machines with a count of up to 25 Nm. By-products created during the process are recovered and used for other projects.
