Fashion Fusion award winner revealed
Tanveer Ahmed, a 2006/07 University of Northampton BA (Hons) Fashion graduate has won the 2008 Fashion Fusion Award.
Ms Ahmed, who was nominated for the award along with fellow Fashion graduates Naomi Facer and Lauren Martin-Goddard, was one of six finalists at the event at Birmingham Conservatoire. She was chosen by Company magazine’s deputy fashion editor, Kirsty Hathaway, Fashion Monitor’s Emily Fleuriot and designer, Gavin Douglas.
The Fashion Fusion Awards are designed to promote undiscovered fashion designers of 2008. Ms Ahmed’s final year collection, a modern take on the Muslim veil, ‘Hijab-It Up’, was one of the highlights of The University of Northampton’s annual Graduate Fashion Show 2007.
Collections from students at the University of Northampton will be showcased at the London Graduate Fashion Week Show on June 9 and the Northampton Graduate Fashion Show on June 18.
