Speedo International and supermodel Alek Wek are working together to promote World Swim against Malaria, a global fundraising initiative. The aim is to encourage a million people around the world to get involved in the swim event, which will take place on April 5.

An image featuring Sudanese-born Ms Wek wearing Speedo’s World Swim against Malaria swimsuit is designed to encourage people to get involved, even if they swim just a short distance. The company has also produced a range of limited edition World Swim against Malaria products. Available in adult and junior sizes the collection includes bright, vibrant swim pieces and eye-catching graphic t-shirts. For every piece purchased from the range, the company will donate one bednet to the Against Malaria Foundation (AMF).

Ms Wek has witnessed the impact of malaria first hand: “Growing up in Sudan, I like so many others, contracted Malaria as a child. Having seen and experienced the devastating effects of this disease I was passionate to get behind Speedo World Swim against Malaria.”
