Another strike at Nike
Workers at a plant in Vietnam which makes footwear for Nike are striking over pay. More than 20,000 staff at the factory in Ching Lu are demanding higher wages in order to counter the effects of rising inflation. According to reports, workers are appealing for a 20% pay rise and improved eating facilities at the site.
Strikes in the country are becoming increasingly common as the cost of living increases. Last November, more than 10,000 employees went on strike at one of the other nine plants that produce shoes for the global sporting goods manufacturer.
