Higher visitor numbers at Intertextile

10/04/2008

Visitor attendance rose 17% to 25,000 at Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics this year compared with the 2007 show. The event, which took place from March 27-29, coincided with CHIC – the China International Clothing and Accessories Fair – and Yarn Expo.

Intertextile covered 30% more space than at last year's edition and more than 1,130 suppliers from 15 countries and regions attended. One of the highlights was an entire hall dedicated to accessories and a special zone for lace and embroidery products.

Three halls were dedicated to international suppliers, several hundred of whom formed regional pavilions. The Italian pavilion featured 50 companies and its own trend forecast area, while the Korean Pavilion was the second largest with 40 suppliers. Germany, Taiwan and Pakistan also organised pavilions.

The show also featured a series of seminars on trends and industry topics and two trend forums for spring/summer 2009. The Interstoff Asia Essential Directions Trend Forum featured inspirations from a collaboration of international designers and Fabrics China featured trends to watch out for in China next year.

The next show will be held March 29-31, 2009.
