15/04/2008

Italy-based fibres, chemicals, textiles, plastics and machinery producer RadiciGroup is currently exhibiting at nonwovens exhibition INDEX 2008 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Tessiture Pietro Radici (TPR), which makes polypropylene spunbond nonwovens under the brand name Dylar, and US-based elastane company Radici Spandex are presenting their latest products at the event, which runs from April 15-18.

Dylar UV Plus, a polypropylene spunbond nonwoven with advanced anti-UV properties is being introduced at the event. The nonwoven is mainly aimed at the clothing, automotive, roofing, agricultural and single-use sectors. TPR's research and development team created Dylar UV Plus, which features a higher UV protection factor than the average product on the market. It creates a screen against UV rays and complies with the requirements of the AS/NZS 4399/96 standard.

Radici Spandex – led by CEO Marty Moran – is presenting the new production developments and customer service improvements designed to enhance the output of S17PC spandex fibre for nonwovens. This includes: better efficiencies – the firm has upgraded to the industry standard three kilogramme package; technological innovation – it has invested in new equipment at its Alabama plant to enhance processing and to yield a more robust, stronger fibre; flexible package delivery; and customised products – it offers products with custom-designed deniers, lustres and colours in minimum order quantities. Other new developments include transparent elastane for new sportswear applications.
