Nike completes Bauer sale

18/04/2008
Nike has completed the sale of its Bauer Hockey subsidiary for $200 million in cash. Bauer CEO, Mark Duggan, will remain with Nike following the sale.
Hockey manufacturer Bauer was established in 1927 and was responsible for developing the first skate with the blade attached to the boot. Its Supreme and Vapor equipment lines have been particularly successful.

Having acquired Bauer in 1995, Nike decided to divest it following a strategic review of its subsidiary businesses. Bauer will continue to use the Nike Bauer Hockey trademark on existing products for up to two years.
