The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that adidas has become the official kit supplier to the England team. The existing kit deal with Admiral has been terminated early; however, ECB thanked the company for its service over the last five years.

ECB commercial director, John Perera, said: "The reputation and standing of adidas in the field of kit manufacturer and supplier is world class. The new kit will be worn for the first time during the 2008 home series against New Zealand.

England captain, Michael Vaughan, said: "The England team are delighted at the prospect of working with adidas in the future.

"Their reputation is second to none."
