Third Queen's Award for Pentland

London-based Pentland Group Plc has received the 2008 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category. The Queen’s Awards assess business performance, while the International Trade category recognises companies that have demonstrated substantial growth overseas.

This is the third time the company has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, previous winners having been Pentland-owned brands Speedo in 1997 for Export Achievement and Berghaus in 2006 for Innovation.

Pentland is involved in brand management and the design, sourcing, marketing and distribution of footwear and clothing in the sports, outdoor and fashion sectors. Its key brands include Speedo, Berghaus, Ellesse and Red or Dead.  It also holds licences from other brand owners including a world-wide licence for Lacoste footwear and Ted Baker footwear as well as a licence for Kickers in the UK.
