Singtex opts for bluesign screening
Functional fabrics producer Singtex Industrial is to undergo a bluesign screening. The company requires the bluesign screening to manage all environment, health and safety (EHS) issues in its newly built manufacturing site. The screening includes a detailed on-site evaluation of the environment, resource and workplace situation of textile manufacturing sites according to the five principles of the bluesign standard including resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety. It indicates resource and cost saving potentials compared with 'best available technology'.
Vice president of bluesign technologies ag, Detlef Fischer, said: “Singtex Industrial Co., LTD is working to implement our system in their new production facilities in Taiwan. Our goal is to provide them with assistance regarding the newest technology and the best chemicals and dyes to reduce their environmental footprint, this is our challenge.”
Singtex operations include spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing and coating with functional and fashion designs.
