Visitors from 73 nations attend Motexha
More than 200 exhibitors from 27 countries attended Motexha 2008, which also attracted visitors from 73 countries. The fashion and textiles show was held March 31 to April 2 in Dubai. Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were the best represented among visitors at the event.
According to a survey carried out at the show, 70% of exhibitors showcased their products to establish new business contacts and 79% received orders of between $25,000 and $50,000. Exhibits included: children and baby wear; fashion accessories; footwear; international brands; leather products; lingerie and swimwear; men’s and ladies apparel; sportswear; textiles; uniforms and specialised clothing
The Arabian Gulf clothing and fashion market is driven by rising consumer spending and continued growth in shopping centres. The regional market is worth in excess of $12 billion.
The 2009 edition of Motexha will be held on April 7–9 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
