New senior appointments at Albany
Advanced textiles and materials processing company Albany International has elected Erland Kailbourne as chairman of the board. Frank Schmeler has retired as chairman after 44 years at the company.
Mr Kailbourne has been a director at the company since 1999. He currently serves as chairman of the board of Financial Institutions, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiary, Five Star Bank, which provides commercial banking services to customers in Western and Central New York State.
The board has also elected John Standish to the newly created position of vice chairman. John has served as a director of the company since 2001. He was formerly employed by the company in a number of management roles, most recently serving as senior vice president—manufacturing, Americas business corridor.
