Klopman sells majority stake

Indian fabric and garment producer MW Unitexx S.A. has bought a controlling stake in Italian textile firm Klopman. The stake was sold by Italian equity firm BS Private Equity for €70 million ($107 million).

Klopman, which specialises in fabrics for the work-wear, protective-wear and apparel industries, posted record revenues of €125 million in 2007.

The MW Unitexx Group has more than 60 years experience in the uniform and work wear market, and its processes span from manufacturing fabrics to producing finished garments.
