Eddie Bauer halves net loss

US-based outerwear, apparel and accessories for outdoor activities Eddie Bauer Holdings, Inc. has reported positive financial results for its first quarter. Net loss dropped $25.5 million, or 56.9%, to $19.3 million compared with $44.8 million in the first quarter of 2007. Revenues were more or less flat at $213.2 million, compared with $214 million in the first quarter of 2007.

The company cut its operating loss by $13.8 million, a reduction of 35.2%, to $25.4 million from $39.2 million.

As of March 29, the company operated 365 total stores, consisting of 247 retail stores and 118 outlet stores.
