IFAI speakers and topics unveiled

The next IFAI advanced textiles event will be held in Berlin from June 12-13 and will present new market-ready innovations and new technologies. The programme is application-oriented and will bring together industry leaders from all over Europe and the US to speak about current issues and requirements.

Major topics will include: sustainable product developments for major fabric applications; nanotechnologies and embedded systems; high-performance textiles for architecture and lightweight structures; and innovative textile applications for advancing protective clothing.

A Smart Textiles Exhibition will feature textile apparel solutions from Daniel Hetcher, Pierre Cardin, Sunload and Jack Wolfskin, among others.

Sessions led by Lenzing, TenCate and Hollingsworth and Vose will take place. Small and medium-sized businesses will also offer product solutions and technologies.

Keynote speakers include: Luis Girao director general, enterprise and industry, European Commission; Jonathan Bensky, commercial minister counsellor, US mission to the EU, Belgium; and Maria D'Andrea, supervisor, Eastern Hemisphere, Office of textiles and apparel, Department of Commerce - Washington, DC.
