Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd is to unveil its new Polypropylene (PP) fibre, DreamFel, at the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) from October 15-17.
DreamFel can be used for thermal wear, diving and surfing suits, skiwear, athletic attire, medical textiles, socks and sock liners, denim and twills, sliver knits, work wear, automotive textiles, luggage and interiors.
General manager, Jammy Huang, believes that because PP fibres are so versatile, this new fibre will become "the star of the world textile industry" over the next couple of years. Mr Huang claims that Tri Ocean is the only manufacturer of PP fibre in Southeast Asia. The new fibre is produced at the firm's Taiyuan factory, which can now produce 300 tons a month. Production is expected to rise in line with increasing demand, according to Mr Huang. "We expect to enlarge our market through this show," he said.
The company's PP fabrics are currently exported to European and American markets as well as local customers. "We predict that this year, orders might increase by at least 30 percent over last year's amount," said Mr Huang.
