Chinese textile exports continue to rise

Figures from China's customs administration show that the country's textile and apparel exports are still on the rise. April exports for the sector were worth approximately $14.3 billion, up 21% compared with March figures, and up 11.34% compared with the same period last year.

Yarn, fabric and other textile products totalled $5.98 billion, while clothing and apparel exports were $8.3 billion.

Between September 2007 and March 2008, clothing and textile exports totalled approximately $113.9 billion, up 17.71% year-on-year. Yarn, fabric and other textile products increased 22.05% to $40.465 billion, while clothing and apparel exports rose 15.44% to $73.48 billion.
