New shoe and sandal styles with Vibram
Two new footwear styles incorporating Vibram soles have been launched: the Mojito sandal and the Scarpa Daylite shoe.
Vibram’s Spider Trek sole was specially designed for Italian outdoor footwear manufacturer Scarpa’s Daylite model. The shoe is lightweight and is designed for daily use on moderately difficult trails. It has a tanned-hide upper with two pressure-release points – one at the front and one at the rear – and lateral support to avoid sprains. The deep V-cut at the back of the collar offers greater comfort during descents. Meanwhile, the Spider sole is made with Vibram’s Trek rubber compound and offers both grip and traction. It also provides wear resistance over a wide range of terrain. The sole is equipped with a high-density EVA anti-twist midsole and a low-density EVA heel for shock absorption. The outsole also extends upward along the outside front edge to protect against knocks.
The new Mojito sandal from Germany-based Lowa features Vibram’s Cougar sole for extra safety and stability. The sandal straps securely and the Vibram Trek rubber sole offers grip and resistance to wear. The Cougar sole offers pressure and grip at the front of the foot and the trim heel ensures stability. The EVA thermoset wedge has a shock-absorbing internal layer and a high-density outer layer for protection.
