30/05/2008

France-based provider of speciality and intermediate chemicals Rhodia has launched Nitya, a polyamide 6.6 high tenacity filament developed at the company's research laboratory in Brazil. The filament will be used in textile applications at its factory in Santo André, in Sao Paulo.

Nitya offers resistance to friction and better dyeing equalisation than many other products currently on the market. It will be used to make fabrics for bags, wallets, trousers, jackets, belts, fashion accessories, footwear, high performance uniforms and rucksacks.

This division of the textile sector has a turnover of approximately $36 million per year in sales.
