France-based outdoor equipment manufacturer Lafuma SA has taken the first step towards acquiring Chavanod-based mountain wear company Eider. The transaction is scheduled for completion in mid June.

Eider posted sales of €21.4 million ($33.1 million) in 2007, 45% of which were international sales. It mainly focuses on outdoor apparel and equipment for the skiing and mountaineering sectors.
