Polartec award winners revealed
Developer, manufacturer and marketer of Polartec performance fabrics Polartec, LLC, has announced the European Apex Design Award winners for 2008. The award is given to the companies it believes has made the best garments using Polartec fabrics and these garments will be available for retail by autumn. Winners are selected based on the style, function and fit of the garment as well as the most innovative and appropriate uses of Polartec fabrics in the designs.
This year’s winners range from a retro-styled children’s fleece coat, to a technical, women’s-specific softshell jacket. They are as follows: 66°North Embla Kid’s Orange Jacket; Aigle Elana; Ternua Spray it on the Wall; Sprayway Energy Half Zip; Lafuma Rosario; Latvia Logistic Command of National Armed Forces; Lowe Alpine Nordic; Millet Super Touring; Mountain Equipment Women’s Moonlite Guide Jacket; Astore Doire Funchal; Lafuma Bufandaflor Caban by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada; Norrona Narvik Warm Fleece; Haglöfs Reptile Hood; and Haglöfs Treble Q Hood.
