Adidas bans mulesed wool
Following a high-profile campaign led by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), German sportswear company has banned the use of wool from mulesed sheep in its products.
Adidas Australia marketing director, Simon Miller, said: "The decision's been made at our global headquarters at Herzogenaurach in Germany.
"It's in line with adidas' global ethical sourcing policy, which covers the way that we source materials and the way that our products are manufactured."
Other companies to have already imposed the ban incldue Hugo Boss, Timberland, Victoria's Secret, Abercrombie&Fitch and H&M.
However, adidas' decision will have a limited impact as it does not currently use Australian wool in any of its collections.
