Japanese collection features Australian Merino

06/06/2008

Japan-based textile firm Onward Kashiyama has launched a new clothing range featuring Australian Merino wool. The company hopes to attract Japanese consumers looking for environmentally friendly apparel options.

Its Australian Merino Field collection, created in conjunction with the Acron of Lion Corporation and Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), is a sports clothing range for autumn-winter 2008. It will include suits, jackets and knitwear and features Acron's Water Treatment Knitwear, which enables buyers to wash garments more easily.

Onward will donate a percentage of the collection's proceeds sold under the Gotairiku and J Press brands to Australian Landcare Management (ALMS), an environmental protection group devoted to managing Australian land and soil, and to protecting the environment.
