Sympatex becomes bluesign system partner
Munich-based manufacturer of functional, waterproof, breathable products Sympatex Technologies GmbH has becomes a bluesign system partner, receiving certification for its membrane.
The bluesign-approved label represents compliance with international environment, health and safety (EHS) requirements and is congruous with Sympatex's desire for a textile industry that is looking to its overall environmental impact.
“The idea of the bluesign standard is not to analyze the final products for harmful substances, but rather to provide manufacturers with pre-approved components that lead to products which are harmless to people and the environment, provided they are applied properly,” said Detlef Fischer, vice president of bluesign technologies ag.
Sympatex Technologies claims to be the first manufacturer in Europe to produce membranes that are breathable as well as being windproof and waterproof. It provides functional systems for clothing, footwear and accessories.
