13/06/2008

Former ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) president, Angelo Vanali, awarded prizes to 10 students studying textile engineering at Italian universities and textile institutes at a ceremony held June 9.

The 10 were winners of an annual competition organised by the ACIMIT Foundation to promote research on issues related to the textile machinery industry.

This year, two students were rewarded with a five-day trip to Shanghai, to attend ITMA ASIA+CITME 2008 in July, at which more than 160 Italian companies will participate. Two scholarships worth €800 were awarded to the other eight students.

The Italian textile machinery industry employs approximately 20,000 people, and achieved revenues of €2.8 billion in 2007.
