Faster swimwear for French Olympians

19/06/2008
Technical swimwear producer TYR Sport has presented its TYR Tracer Rise to French swim foundation La Fédération Française de Natation. The official 2008 French National Team’s Olympic competition swimsuit was shown using a Paris pool deck as a fashion runway. It features the French national team colours and flag and is the first polyurethane hybrid design used in competition.

"These are the most technically advanced suits ever worn by a French national team. TYR’s combination of high performance technology and bold design means French swimmers will have the fastest swimsuit in the pool,” said former French Swimming Olympian, Franck Horter. “French swim fashion just got faster.”

European record holder, Amaury Leveaux, the second fastest man in swimming history wore the suit at the recent French Olympic Trials. In back-to-back events he established a historic racing milestone by swimming the 50m Freestyle sprint in under 22 seconds and, shortly after, won the middle-distance 200m Freestyle in under 1:47.
