BASF launches podcast on dye-free colour
German chemicals company BASF has released a new podcast to help listeners learn about the effects of 'colours without dyes'.
The 'Chemistry of Innovations' podcast is produced by the company's corporate communications division, which kicked off a regular bilingual podcast service in April 2007 to report on the firm’s innovations and research and development activities in an informative and entertaining way.
The latest podcast covers the use of nanotechnology, which has enabled researchers at BASF to develop colours that change their colour impressions when looked at rom different directions. Other effects are also possible, for example the so-called 'mechano optical colours' change colour when stretched.
