23/06/2008

Everest Textile Ltd Co Taiwan has received the bluesign award and has officially become a bluesign system partner. Everest's 21 product lines comply with the five principles of the bluesign standard including resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety.

Everest applied for the bluesign screening after launching the 'Everest Sustainability Model' in 2007. It plans to provide a wider range of eco-friendly products in the near future as consumer demand grows and environmental concerns heighten.

Pesident, Roger Yeh, said: "Sustainability is a critical factor determining the competitive edge of global enterprises.

"Obtaining the bluesign award is a beginning of eco protection. Everest will keep devoting itself to save energy, reduce waste and take "zero-emissions" as the ultimate goal of Everest's three plants to assume our corporate responsibility and preserve the environment in the future."
