Oxylane uses PTC's FlexPLM for sports shoes
Oxylane Group, the new corporate identity of sports equipment manufacturer and retailer the Décathlon Group, is to use the Product Development Company's (PTC's) FlexPLM to speed up production. The tool will help the company to reduce design costs and lead times and improve product quality.
FlexPLM is a product lifecycle management solution for the retail, footwear and apparel industry and will be used to design and develop clothing, sports shoes and bags in the company's Passion Brands. It should help to improve the process from product design through to supply.
It will be used in France and in the countries where its main suppliers are located. Therefore, its head office at Villeneuve d’Ascq will now be linked up with the following sites: Quechua (mountain sports) in the Alps region, Tribord (water sports) at Hendaye, and Geologic (hunting and fishing) at Cestas, near Bordeaux. The tool will be accessible to all Oxylane Group's production subsidiaries and their subcontractors in Europe, North Africa, Asia and South America and should help to improve communication between the bases.
“FlexPLM is a tool that has already proved its worth for a number of companies on the textiles market, such as Liz Claiborne and JCPenney in the USA,” said Hervé Lautier, project manager, Oxylane Group.
