Knit fabrics manufacturer Christian Eschler AG has received the bluesign award, confirming its commitment to bluesign manufacturing guidelines.

The bluesign standard is based on five principles: resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety.

“Eschler sees the bluesign standard as a sustainable company philosophy,” said Peter Eschler of Christian Eschler AG. “As one of the first bluesign system partners we have committed ourselves already years ago to implementing the recommendations and requirements of the bluesign initial screening in our factory. Already after the first implementation phase we were able to certify numerous products with the “bluesign approved fabric” label.

"Today, two bluesign re-screenings later, about 90% of all Eschler products are certified with the “bluesign approved fabric” label. Additionally, the bluesign screenings allowed us to make distinct progress in the reduction of our resource usage such as energy and water. Today we’re in a position to say that Eschler uses exclusively ‘Best Available Technology’”.

Since its foundation in 1927, Christian Eschler has concentrated on knit fabrics. Over the years, the classic jersey manufacturer has developed products in four areas: fabrics for active sportswear, workwear, technical textiles and sophisticated basic fabrics for embroidery and lingerie.
