MITI gets bluesign screening
Italian warp knit specialist MITI spa is to undergo a bluesign screening, a detailed on-site evaluation of the environmental, resource and workplace situation of its production sites. The five principles of the bluesign standard include resource productivity, consumer safety, air emissions, water emissions and occupational health and safety. It also focuses on resource saving and cost saving potential, taking into account ‘best available technology’.
General manager at MITI, Gian Piero Orsina, said: “In this challenging time of revolutionary changes, we are enthusiastically running a wide programme of improvements in the organisation, corporate behaviours, processes, utilities and raw material consumption, in order to offer a new generation of fabrics, that will provide benefits and advantages in terms of health, safety and environmental protection in a long term perspective to all of us. We’re strongly convinced that bluesign technologies ag is the ideal partner that will support and allow us to produce our fabrics in a more eco-friendly and sustainable way.”
