New cutter from Gerber
Gerber Scientific, Inc. has launched its new GERBERcutter Z7 multi-ply cutter, which will primarily target the technical textiles, automotive and aerospace markets. These sectors account for approximately 30-40% of Gerber Technology's annual revenue, growing at more than 10% per year.
The Z7 is designed to help manufacturers to alleviate pressure within their supply chains in order to improve, turn time and ability to report performance metrics. It has also taken environmental concerns and energy consumption regulations into consideration, helping to increase efficiency and reduce power usage. It maximises throughput and yield as well as cutting intricate shapes, multiple hole sizes and notches with high accuracy. It can be used across a full range of material types and thicknesses, including bi-laminate foams, technical textiles and high-loft fabrics.
It also enables manufacturers to shift from processes requiring traditional die cutting to automated knife technology in order to meet changing industry demands.
