Clariant acquires Rite Systems and Ricon Colors

Swiss specialty chemicals Clariant has acquired the combined companies of US masterbatches suppliers Rite Systems Inc and Ricon Colors Inc. Terms of the agreement, which took effect on July 1, were not disclosed. The purchase will strengthen Clariant Masterbatches’ market position in North America.
Founded in 1987 and with yearly sales of approximately $50 million, Rite Systems and Ricon Colors employ approximately 150 people. They operate from three plants in the US and one unit based in Vienna, Austria.
Clariant Masterbatches’ key market segments include textile, packaging, consumer goods, automotive and additives. The combined business will employ more than 700 people in North America.Share this story:
