Lenzing increases fibre production for military fabric

Austria-based Lenzing AG has increased its production capacity for heat protection fibre Lenzing FR.

The expansion will enable TenCate to supply larger quantities of TenCate Defender M fabrics to the US military, which was first introduced in March 2007. These fabrics are made from a fibre blend that includes Lenzing’s FR rayon.

TenCate Protective Fabrics, based in Union City, Georgia, supplies various types of flame retardant (FR) fabrics to the US armed forces.
