Elmarco, a Liberec, Czech Republic-based company, has been developing nano-fibres in collaboration with various Czech academic and scientific institutions for several years. It recently launched an overseas research programme in order to extend its nano-fibre knowledge.

Using Nanospider technology, which the company has developed with the Technical University in Liberec, ongoing development of new nano-fibre fabrics and materials for the US Army has been set up.

“We have managed to start parallel research projects with American North Carolina State University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/MIT/ in the USA and Stellenbosch University in South Africa,” said Elmarco representative Ladislav Mareš. “The US Army was one of our first customers, so we are glad that we can continue working with them. Details of the project are obviously confidential at the moment.”
