New exhibitors and innovations at Texworld

21/07/2008
More than 780 exhibitors will present new products at the next Texworld show, which will take place September 22-25 in Paris, and around 17,000 buyers will come to see the latest innovations.

Most of the exhibitors are from India, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey, and 89% of visitors will come from overseas.

Exhibitors are increasingly adapting their product ranges to appeal to western tastes, with a particular emphasis on organic products and products made in an eco-friendly way. For this reason, many will present fabrics featuring soya, bamboo and chitosan (a material derived from the shells of crustaceans) alongside more traditional materials such as wool, cotton, silk, linen, viscose and polyester.

New exhibitors include: Youngor Worsted, a specialist in combed wool, founded in Ningho in the Yinxian province in China; Mitsubishi Rayon Co, a Japanese company using acetate and polyester to create a range of functional fabrics; Salim Kaskas Co., the show's first Lebanese exhibitor which specialises in innovative fabrics for fashion using shantung, tussah, organza and ponge silk.
