Industrial new orders fell 3.5% in the euro area in May compared with April, while new orders in the EU27 decreased by 4.7%. Industrial new orders fell 4.4% in May compared with May 2007 and by 2.8% in the EU27.

Month-on-month, new orders for textiles and textile products fell 4.2% in the euro area and 1.7% in the EU27. Year-on-year, manufacturing of textiles and textile products declined by 8.6% and 6.4%, respectively.
