AWI introduces Grande Cru wool at Pitti Filati
Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) said the response to its latest products at Pitti Filati, held in Florence from July 2-4, had been positive, despite the shaky economic climate.
It showcased its ‘Grande Cru’ collection titled fifteen&finer; luxury Merino yarns, all classified 15 microns and finer. The company joined with a variety of fabric producers and spinners to showcase the collection including: Escorial; Gostwyck; Jemala; Michell; The Merino Company (TMC); Zegna Baruffa; Filatura Botto Poala; Lora Festa; and Filatura de Tollegno.
“Regardless of the current economic instability clients are still interested in buying quality and they still need to come to Pitti Filati to source prestigious yarns,” said Jimmy Jackson, global product development manager.
“AWI is working with top makers, spinners, weavers, brand owners and retailers to help produce yarns, fabrics and garments to suit the needs of today’s consumer who demands softer, more luxurious and natural fibres,” he continued.
