Thai firms undergo bluesign screening
30/07/2008
A group of Thailand-based companies is to undergo a bluesign screening at various manufacturing sites in Petchburi and Samutsakorn. The group comprises a number of partnerships between Thai and Swiss or Austrian firms including Gamma Textile, Bischoff Gamma, Eschler Thaiknit, Gemini Textile and Setafil.
The bluesign screening includes a detailed, on-the-spot evaluation of the environmental, resource and workplace situations of the textile manufacturing sites according to the five principles of the bluesign standard. These include resource productivity, consumer safety, air and water emission, and occupational health and safety. It also offers resource- and cost-saving solutions in line with ‘best available technology’.
