Police seize fake football shirts

The Spanish authorities have confiscated 15,000 football shirts in the suburbs of Barcelona and made two arrests.

Officers from the Civil Guard raided four properties on the outskirts of the Catalan city, bringing to an end an investigation that had begun after sports brand Nike and three of the clubs whose shirts had been duplicated—Celtic, Manchester United and Arsenal—had lodged an official complaint.

The police seized goods worth an estimated €830,000, including shorts, towels and bags bearing the colours and crests of the clubs.
