Senior executives from New Balance and Wolverine are to join the board of directors of the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA).
On August 11, the association announced the appointment to the board of Jim Tompkins, president and chief operating officer of New Balance, and Michael McBreen, president of global operations at Wolverine World Wide. In each case, the executives will take the place on the AAFA board of colleagues who are retiring.
The outgoing board members are John Larsen, president emeritus of New Balance, and Art Croci, who has retired from Wolverine. “John and Art have been active members of the AAFA board and will be sorely missed,” said AAFA chairman Peter Gabbe, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Carole Hochman Design Group. “However, I am confident that Jim and Michael will make a smooth transition in representing New Balance and Wolverine as we welcome them to this group of distinguished industry executives.”
