Lenzing and Advansa to continue partnership
18/08/2008
The two companies began their partnership in 2007 and feel that the move worked well enough to continue with new developments this year.
Under the slogan 'Eco meets function', the two companies are presenting Lenzing's Tencel fibre and Advansa's ThermoCool Eco as a combination that can allow their customers to produce textiles that will work well in sports and activewear applications.
ThermoCool Eco offers the same dual functionality as the rest of Advansa's ThermoCool range, insulation against cold and evaporative cooling when the wearer becomes too hot. The only difference is that in the case of Eco, the companymakes the polymer from replenishbale raw materials.
Tencel also comes from a renewable natural source, wood, and offers high levels of moisture absorption.
As well as having green credentials, the two companies argue that the combination of their fibres will allow garment manufacturers to produce apparel that leaves wearers with a drier skin surface during sports activities with optimum thermo-buffering properties.
