Nux seeks seamless success with Nilit Aquarius

Yarn manufacturer Nilit has announced a deal to provide its Aquarius moisture management 6.6 nylon to Nux, a new brand of seamless women’s activewear that launched earlier this year. Nilit has paid close attention to the seamless garment industry, developing distinctive performance yarns specifically for apparel products of this kind.
“We were pleased that Nux selected our Aquarius yarn for this beautiful, seamless performancewear line for women,” says Molly Kremidas, Nilit’s US marketing director. “Aquarius was designed to provide permanent, superior moisture management, especially in nylon seamless fabrications for activewear, bodywear, and intimate apparel.”
The Nux performancewear line includes women’s seamless tanks, racers, camis, leggings, and shorts designed with a contemporary fit. Retail prices range from $30-$50 per item. Nux is currently sold in upscale boutiques, athletic specialty stores and catalogues, tennis and golf pro shops, and college bookstores. Distribution expansion to major sporting goods retailers and department stores is planned soon.
“We selected Nilit's Aquarius yarn for Nux for several reasons,” said Lourdes Lozano, Nux’s sales manager. “The moisture management mechanism is built into the yarn itself so we could avoid using chemical finishes, which athletic purists may resist. Plus, it delivers a luxurious hand which is so important to women and the yarns hold color well resulting in beautiful, vibrant garments.”
Nilit Aquarius represents a significant advancement in nylon 6.6 design that provides three tiers of moisture management performance: an effective moisture management additive is permanently embedded throughout the fibre; the fibre itself is constructed with a specially shaped cross-section to maximise wicking surface area; and the yarn is designed to create micro-channels to transport moisture away from the body.
“Women have very high expectations of their athletic clothing,” continued Ms Lozano. “With Nilit Aquarius, Nux is able to provide seamless performance garments that fit well, look beautiful, and keep women drier and more comfortable throughout all their athletic activities.”
