Outdoor apparel and footwear brand The North Face (TNF) has named Oscar Bel Amaya as its new country manager for Spain. The former Nike and Champion executive will take up his new position on September 1.
He will report to TNF’s sales director for Europe, Timo Schmidt-Eisenhart, who said of him: “We are confident that his strong outdoor knowledge and expertise will further strengthen our business growth strategy in Spain.”
The company has retail stores in Madrid, Barcelona and at Benasque in the Pyrenees. Also, several of TNF’s sponsored athletes are Spanish, including mountaineer Ester Sabadell and climbers Eneko and Iker Pou, whose association with the company has helped raise its profile there.
Mr Bel Amaya said he was confident of carrying on this effort, adding: “Spaniards have exploration and adventure in our blood.”
