Sanitized launches new antimicrobial products
Sanitized AG has spent several years developing two new patent-pending products that enable a high wash-resistant antimicrobial treatment on textiles made from synthetic fibres.
The new products offer hygiene protection benefits in textiles with constant direct skin contact, such as apparel, home textiles and bedding for up to 100 wash cycles without using any silver. According to the company, such high washing resistance for antimicrobial treated synthetic fibres was only possible using silver-based products.
The foundation of the treatment for synthetic fibres is the EPA registered, Oeko-Tex, UK Allergy and bluesign approved product, Sanitized T 99-19. This silicon quaternary ammonium compound has protected celluloid containing textiles against micro-organisms such as bacteria, dust mites and even MRSA for some time. The two new additives enable a durable fixation of the established product Sanitized T 99-19 on synthetic fibres.
Sanitized X-Linker PAD 26-19 works as bonding partner in padding applications, while the Sanitized Primer EX 27-29 was developed for exhaust applications.
Some textiles still showed a good antimicrobial effect even after 100 wash cycles at 60°C. Further test results document that thermo-migration is improved with Sanitized Primer EX 27-29 and not affected by Sanitized X-Linker PAD 26-19.
