Oao Polief opens second PET line

Russia-based Oao Polief has opened a second polyethylene (PET) production line with a capacity of 60 tonnes a year. It expects to reach full production from September 2009. This will double its existing PET production capacity.

The new unit will make PET-produced granules with viscosity of no less than 0.8 dl/d. PET is often used to make fibres and composite materials, among other things, and demand in Russia is very high.
