Germany-based chemicals firm BASF was listed as the top chemical company in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). It received a rating of 87% for its climate strategy, environmental and social reporting and for developing innovative and eco-efficient products.

The DJSI World represents the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in each industry in the Dow Jones Global Index.

“We are very proud that BASF has taken a leading position in this index. It shows that we are on the right path with our sustainability strategy and our commitment to climate protection,” says Dr Ulrich von Deessen, climate protection officer and head of BASF’s environment, health and safety competence centre.

BASF has been a member of DJSI World since 2001.
